On October 1, 2011, Native Instruments released Maschine Mikro, a budget oriented version of the hardware controller, but with the updated Maschine 1.7 software. Maschine was first released on April 1, 2009, in a package that contained the original iteration of the hardware controller and Maschine software 1.0. So, while following the directions I seen here, and downloaded the image file for MKII, to my new windows 10 laptop (because there is no MKI), I thought I was set, because the demo came up. My laptop is on the verge of dying and I lost my installation disc. I bought my Maschine MKI back in 2012 (for windows 7). This update means that MASCHINE now supports Ableton Link, so you can easily tempo sync with TRAKTOR, Ableton Live, your favorite music-making apps, or any other Link-enabled software.

The MASCHINE 2.5.5 update, free to all MASCHINE 2 customers, is out now.
